The “Teresa Manara” from the Apulian winery Cantele is a pure Chardonnay aged in barrique, with a rich, broad, and soft profile. The Burgundy white has long resided in the land of Puglia, where it expresses itself with a sunny and typically Mediterranean character. On the nose, it is very intense and almost seductive, with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, notes of exotic fruit, hints of honey, and spices. The palate is enveloping and warm, with ripe fruit, great softness, gustatory harmony, and a long final persistence.
The white “Teresa Manara” Cantele is a Chardonnay dedicated to a female figure who played a fundamental role in the fate of the Cantele winery. The development and success of the company are due to her enterprise and tenacity, which continue today in the wake of her work and memory. The estate is located in the territory of Guagnano, in the heart of Salento, a very breezy region with a warm Mediterranean climate, mitigated by sea breezes. The soils are derived from the clayey calcarenites of Salento, quite deep and rich in limestone and sands. The Chardonnay is trained in Guyot and is generally harvested,harvested around mid-August. After soft pressing, the must is cooled to 10 °C and started to ferment in steel at 15 °C, which then finishes in barrique. The wine ages in barrique on the fine lees for about 8 months before being bottled.
