Chianti Classico Riserva Castellare di Castellina 2023
The Chianti Classico Riserva from Castellare di Castellina is a wine that elegantly expresses complexity and harmony from one of the best terroirs in Tuscany. After aging for 15 months in French barrels and another 15 in bottle, it reveals floral aromatic tones and a dry, balanced, and pleasantly tannic sip.
The Chianti Classico Riserva from the Castellare di Castellina winery is a territorial label, made with Sangiovese, combined with a small percentage of Canaiolo. It originates in the lands of Chianti from a reality that has managed to combine the ancient Tuscan tradition with the noble harmony and elegance of France. The long aging in wood and in bottle allows the wine to present a soft and evolved profile, particularly appreciated by those who prefer reds with rich and expressive fruit, pleasantly seductive and balanced. It is a bottle to be served at the table with a roast, grilled meat, or small game.
The red Chianti Classico Riserva Castellare di Castellina is born in the Tuscan estate of Chianti owned by Paolo Panerai, always managed with the intent of producing great terroir wines. The Sangiovese and Canaiolo vines are cultivated within the Castellina in Chianti estate, at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level, on predominantly limestone soils, very suitable for red grape varieties. The harvest takes place at the beginning of October and the best bunches are sent toto fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine rests for 15 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux and completes the long aging process with 15 months in bottle before being put on sale.
The Chianti Classico Riserva wine from Castellare di Castellina confirms the classic and soft style of great reds, which have always made this winery famous. Its interpretation of Sangiovese is always aimed at seeking a taste balance that favors the richness of the fruit. Visually, it presents a bright ruby color with slight garnet reflections. Intense and elegant, it opens to the nose with aromas of ripe cherry, marasca, small red berry fruits, floral nuances, delicately spicy hints, memories of noble woods and leather. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a dense and evolved tannic texture and a sip characterized by a good complexity and aromatic persistence. The finish is harmonious and pleasantly fresh. A perfect interpretation of the Chianti territory.
