The Etna Bianco by Pietradolce is a refined and elegant expression of the Carricante grape on the volcanic terroir of Etna. A fresh and vibrant, savory and citrusy wine, with a slender body and an agile, dynamic sip. It is a lively, direct, and immediate white, with its uncompromising expressive vertical thrust. Born from a unique territory in the world, suspended between the peak of the volcano and the sea, the Carricante expresses all the energy and restless strength of the lava flows that traverse the incredible landscape of the Etna vineyards.
The Etna Bianco wine is produced with grapes from vineyards cultivated on the northern slope of the volcano, in the Solicchiata district, at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. The vines are trained according to the traditional alberello form, on sandy loam soils, with a strong presence of volcanic skeleton, in a very sunny and bright area, with significant temperature fluctuations and always ventilated. After the manual harvest of the grapes, which takes place around mid-October, soft pressing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks follow. The wine matures for six months in steel and completes the aging period with a few months in bottle before being put on the market.
The Carricante Etna Bianco is a wine with a strong personality, expressing in the glass the best characteristics of the indigenous Sicilian grape and the enchanting territory of Etna. A condensation of Mediterranean, mountain viticulture, lava, and sea, finding perfect harmony in the glass. The color is intense straw yellow, with aromas of orange blossom, Mediterranean scrub herbs, citrus, white fruit, and iodized sensations. The sip is tense and lively, with delicate fruit and a fresh finish, returning to savory and mineral notes.
