The Pinot Noir Reserve "Monticol", known in previous vintages as "Montigl", is a full-bodied and intense wine born from the oldest and highest Pinot Noir vines of the Terlano winery. It has a complex bouquet of berries and spices, slightly smoky. The taste is balanced and intense, with beautiful persistence.

The Pinot Nero Riserva "Monticol", already marketed by the Terlano winery under the label "Montigl", is the result of a selection of the oldest vineyards cultivated at altitude, which naturally produce high-quality grapes with low yields. The particularly cool and breezy climate of the Terlano area has proven to be very suitable for the famous Burgundy grape, which has been present in Alto Adige since the 1800s. It is a version of Pinot Nero that stands out for its very elegant profile, a refined bouquet, and a pleasantly smooth sip.

The Pinot Nero Riserva "Monticol" wine is produced by one of the most famous and prestigious realities in Alto Adige. The Terlano winery has over a century of history behind it and today works with the grapes of over 140 small Alto Adige winemakers, who cultivate plots in particularly suited areas. The vineyards are located at the foothills of Mount Tschöggel on ancient volcanic porphyry and sandstone soils. The availability of a vast park of plots allows for the cultivation of each variety in the most suitable area. For Pinot Nero, the areas at altitude were chosen, with a sunny exposure to the south and southwest, particularly suited for such a demanding and difficult variety. The philosophy of the winery is oriented not only towards the pursuit of quality but also towards enhancing each single terroir, through wines capable of expressing great typicity and authenticity.

The red Pinot Nero Riserva "Monticol" from Cantina Terlano comes from the vineyards of the eponymous cru, located at the foothills of Mount Zoccolo, at an altitude ranging from 450 to 760 meters above sea level. The sunny exposure and the notable temperature excursions favor a perfect ripening of the grapes. At the end of the manual harvest, the bunches are destemmed and sent for fermentation in steel with skin maceration. The wine matures for 12 months, partly in large barrels and partly in barriques, both new and used.notes of soft spices and hints of flint. On the palate, it is agile and smooth, with a fine tannic texture, delicate and complex aromas that anticipate a savory finish and great freshness. An excellent Pinot Nero with a character that is typically Alto Adige, fresh, fruity, and savory.
