Domaine François Feuillet

HistoryThe Domaine François Feuillet was born from the meeting of two generations and two distant worlds. In the early 1990s, François Feuillet, an entrepreneur at the helm of the Trigano group, fell in love with Burgundy and met David Duband, a young winemaker from Chevannes who had just graduated from the oenology studies in Beaune. Thus, a simple and lasting pact was born: Feuillet buys the vineyards, Duband cultivates and vinifies them, and the harvest is divided between the two labels. Thanks to this agreement, they enter into the project parcels that a young producer could never have afforded: first Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée, then the first Grand Cru, Échezeaux, and later the old vines of the historic Domaine Jacky Truchot, with Clos de la Roche and Charmes-Chambertin.

History
The Domaine François Feuillet was born from the meeting of two generations and two distant worlds.

Vineyard
The vineyards of Domaine François Feuillet today touch the most famous municipalities of the Côte de Nuits, from Gevrey-Chambertin to Nuits-Saint-Georges, passing through Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, and Vougeot. Many parcels host vines over fifty years old, on limestone and clay-limestone soils exposed to the east and southeast. The management follows the principles of certified organic farming: no chemical herbicides, soil cultivation, and natural cover cropping to protect soil life. Pruning controls yields and concentrates aromas, the harvest is entirely manual, and each climat is harvested separately, so that each parcel tells its own story.

Wines
The labels of Domaine François Feuillet bear the stylistic signature of David Duband, who grew up admiring the great domaines of Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin. In the cellar, the distinctive choice is whole cluster fermentation, with foot treading for a delicate extraction. Aging takes place in fût of oak, with new wood dosed by denomination, followed by a resting in tank and bottling without fining or filtration. The result is Pinot Noir with a brilliant ruby color, with aromas of small red fruits, flowers, and spices, a fresh sip, and fine tannins. A Burgundy of finesse and depth, designed to evolve over time.
